Going forward

In accordance with Section 1 of the Federal Network Agency’s ruling on the Hydrogen Balancing and Settlement Model (WasABi) dated October 27, 2025, the hydrogen transmission system operators designated Trading Hub Europe GmbH (THE) as the hydrogen market area manager on December 8, 2025, within the prescribed deadline. THE accepted the designation on December 12, 2025. Since then, preparations have been underway .

At the end of 2025, Trading Hub Europe GmbH (THE) was designated as the market area manager for hydrogen and has since been consistently driving forward preparations to implement the requirements of the Federal Network Agency’s hydrogen regulations.

The first open market dialogue to develop guidelines for the future regulated hydrogen market took place on April 16, 2026.
